Think Aditya Roy Kapur and the first word that instantly comes to mind is - versatility. To begin with, it's easy to say that the year 2020 has been really special for the actor. After delivering his career's biggest hit this year and in a completely new action avatar in ‘Malang' which impressively established him as India's most desirable action hero, Aditya today celebrates his journey of 11 years in the movie business. The actor made his Bollywood debut with the Vipul Shah directorial musical drama 'London Dreams' in 2009. The same year, he was seen in 'Action Replayy' alongside Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. However, it was in the year 2010 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Guzaarish' which earned him immense praise and Stardust Superstar of Tomorrow – Male Award.

In 2013, Roy Kapur stepped into the leading hero’s shoes in Mohit Suri's 'Aashiqui 2' which catapulted him into major stardom and established him as the ultimate romantic heartthrob with a massive female fan following. Owing to his show-stealing performance, he was nominated for various awards including the prestigious Filmfare Award in the Best Actor category and the Screen Awards Most Popular Actor Male. In the same year, he was seen in Dharma Productions biggest blockbuster ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ playing Avi, which earned him a lot of love from the audiences all across and also an IIFA best-supporting actor award. 

Years 2014 and 2016 saw Aditya back at theatres with very versatile performances in ‘Daawat-e-Ishq' and 'Fitoor', paired with Parineeti Chopra and Katrina Kaif respectively. This was followed by a heartwarming performance in 2017’s ‘Ok Jaanu’ which once again earned him a lot of positive reviews and a stamp of approval from the audiences. Next up, Aditya’s layered mature performance in 'Kalank' (2019) once again added another feather in his cap. Interestingly, all these projects had the actor keeping his romantic hero image going really strong.


However, what followed next was the biggest game-changer in Aditya Roy Kapur's career and saw him breaking all norms. Aditya reunited with Mohit Suri to deliver a complete action thriller blockbuster in ‘Malang’. A runaway success, both,  at the box office and on OTT, the dark edgy thriller won the audiences with its unpredictable storyline and the actor's never seen before action hero avatar. For his role in the film, he underwent a massive physical transformation and essayed two completely different characters in the blockbuster.


Post impressing fans with his new bad ass avatar globally, he next starred in Mahesh Bhatt's Sadak 2 this year. Being an actor who's known for surprising the cinelovers time and again, the actor is now gearing up for his career's first ever comedy film titled 'Ludo'.  A dark comedy crime film, helmed by Anurag Basu, there's a lot of excitement amongst the audiences to see Aditya in the film.
